Children's Program · Ages 6-12

You just want your child back.So do we.

When a child's struggles have outgrown what a weekly counselor's office can hold, Psycamore's children's program gives them structured, intensive support, while they keep sleeping in their own bed, going to their own school, and coming home to you every night.

“The school keeps calling. Bedtime is a battle. Nothing we try is working.”

Is this the right level of care?

Signs a child may need more than weekly counseling

Children rarely say “I'm depressed.” It usually shows up as behavior, and it usually shows up at school first.

  • Persistent sadness, withdrawal, or loss of interest in things they loved
  • Anger outbursts or mood swings that don't match the situation
  • Disruptive behavior at school, or refusing to go at all
  • Changes in eating or sleeping that won't settle
  • Self-injury, or talk that frightens you
  • Attention and focus problems that are derailing their learning

Inside the program

What the program actually looks like

Peer groups run late afternoon, so your child doesn't miss school. Everything else is built around your family's schedule.

Mental health screening & diagnostic assessment

Including ADHD testing, so treatment is aimed at what's actually going on.

Group therapy, Monday-Thursday

4:00-6:30pm. Skills practice with other kids who get it. Often the first time a child feels less alone.

Individual therapy

One-to-one time with their therapist, scheduled around school and your availability.

Family therapy

Because a child's progress holds only if the whole house changes with them.

Medical monitoring

Psychiatrist-led oversight of medication, adjusted as your child responds.

Parent support & parenting groups

A weekly group for you, with strategies that work, and other parents who understand.
